My trip to the Emergency Room

As most of you know for the last three or four days I have been really sick. I was told, 'it is just a case of the flu,' and that I would be fine with some rest. WRONG. Turns out I have a kidney infection. Yeah, not to nice, and definitely a LOT WORSE then the flu. I will spare you all the gross details, but in short, at like 2:00am I starting having the worst pain I have ever had in life on my right side, where my appendix and kidney are located. By 2:30am I couldn't stand it and was screaming bloody murder and woke up my room mates and made them drive me to the E.R. It was not fun. I can't remember much from when I left to when I got into see a nurse, because of the pain, but I do remember having to walk through metal detectors to get in and it made me really freaking mad. Like if I am near death, who has time to fool around with metal detectors? Anyway, the rest is all pretty traumatic because I was all alone in the E.R. with freaking two I.V.s in my arm, while they ran a series of tests. My nurse was pretty nice, she was from Queens, New York, and she had a fun accent. I was afraid to go to sleep because they were coming in and out of my room for like the first few hours and every time they opened the door it scared the crap out of me. I lied in the bed and thought about how much I hate Orlando, and how I was afraid to be there alone, and then I remembered two things, 2nd Timothy 1:7 'God has not given us a spirit of fear but of Love and a Sound Mind.' And I can't remember which verse this is but, 'The peace the surpasses all understanding.' So I prayed on those two things, and then called the necessary people. aka Mom, Ga-Ga, Mar'Kyle, Vanessa. Once the nurse gave me pain meds, I started to feel so sleepy. It kind of made me feel drunk. Not like, 'oh haha the world is great drunk' but like 'omg someone must have spiked my drink because I am so freaking sick omg.' In the end I was discharged this morning at 8:00am and given a whole bunch of strong medication to fix the infection and help with pain and nausea. I got an ugly band-aid thing for my arm where the I.V.'s were, and cool bracelet like the one the homeless guy had. Except, mine was legit, not stolen from a baby. I have to go back in the morning to have one more blood test done, because my white blood cell count was so high, and so was my blood pressure and my heart rate. Besides that, as long as this medication works, I should feel better within about a month. The only other sucky thing is, I can't drink anything but water for the first ten days of my medication. STUPID. Then I am aloud 'juice in moderation' but NO soda, and NOTHING carbonated for a month. I called and told Disney I had the paper work saying I would be required off work for at least the next two days, and the stupid lady was like, 'we can't take notes from your primary doctor.' I was like, 'it was the Emergency room, I am not from here, my primary doctor is from St. Louis.' She was like, 'You need to go see Disney Health Services.' I was like, 'They were the ones who said I had the flu, and clearly, that was not it.' She was like, 'Well take your paper work to them and I guess they will see what they can do.' So whatever, that is fine, I will take it to them whenever I get better and am able to return to work.
